Councillor Michael Headley said “It is very disappointing the Conservative administration is not on top of this issue. During the cost of living crisis these grants have given important help for many local residents. It should be a priority area for their attention. Instead they are just sitting on this funding and not using it to help hard-pressed residents.
“Everyone knows food prices are continuing to rise, so a £15 Free School Meal holiday voucher doesn’t go as far as it once did. We are calling on the Council to step up and increase the value of the holiday voucher so that families entitled to this help get the support they need over the holidays.”
